HUB Community Platform

Frequently asked questions

What the HUB is, what it can do, and what happens to your data. If something is still unclear afterwards, please address this by mail (gots@residential-iconic.es).

1

What is the HUB?

The HUB is a platform the members of this community can use to organise themselves, to communicate, and above all to work together. It is built on an open-source platform and has been configured and tailored for an international owners community.

The HUB is not an official community tool. Using it is entirely each owner’s private decision.

2

What can the HUB do?

At heart the HUB is a platform made up of separate apps, each supporting a different part of everyday business within the community. Some were configured for our purposes, others were written specifically for the HUB.

Announcements
Reach every member with news that matters, through the right communication channel.
Surveys
Ask the community for its view before a decision is taken.
Address book
Shared contacts, with each owner deciding what to publish, and external contacts such as suppliers or the administration in the same place.
File sharing
Files and documents at community level and within each block, properly organised and available to everyone.
Planning boards
Organise tasks and track progress - together.
Complain management
Raise a concern under an anonymised username.
Knowledge base
Concepts, guidelines, specifications, rules and use-case instructions.
Digital Security Board
Overview and action panel for community security.

The list is not fixed, and the possibilities are not limited to it. Anyone can contribute ideas.

Rather than take my word for it, click through the walkthrough - announcements, surveys, files, contacts and the knowledge base, with real situations from this community.

3

Who decides which features get built next?

The community does. Anyone can submit an idea or a feature request, and all of them are listed openly, so every member can see what has been proposed and add their like to it.

The ideas with the most likes carry the highest priority and are considered first for implementation.

4

Why is the date of the notary deed needed?

It is what confirms that whoever registers an apartment really is its owner.

It is used for that check alone: no other member ever sees it, and it plays no part in the platform once your account is active.

5

What is the email alias offered in the registration form?

An address such as B09A08@residential-iconic.es is an alias. Everything sent to it is forwarded to the real address behind it, which you never have to reveal.

Mail is passed on only. It is not stored along the way.

6

I am sceptical - what happens to my data?

The HUB was deliberately built to be minimal and privacy-first. All data is protected in line with applicable data-protection law and is additionally encrypted on the server.

Your identity is not on display. Inside the platform people are known by a username made up of their block and apartment number, and you decide for yourself which contact details you share with other members. Some apps go further still and use only an anonymised form of that username - complaints, for instance.

None of this leaves you unreachable: members can talk to each other inside the platform without either side sharing any contact details.

7

Can I delete my account again?

Yes, at any time and without giving a reason. You can delete the account yourself in the HUB under Settings → Personal Info → Delete Account.

If you would rather not do it yourself, ask the platform operator and it will be done for you. Your account and the data belonging to it are removed either way.

8

I need more detail. Where do I find it?

A documentation area for the HUB is being prepared in the knowledge base: what each app is for, and how to use it in practice.

It will be available there shortly.

9

I do not want to register.

That is entirely fine. Registration is a private decision, and nothing in the community depends on it.
